Description

In this exciting and challenging role, the Clinical Analyst will analyze and review data trends and create reports for quality, compliance and medical expense management. The chosen candiate will analyze operational processes to recommend changes where needed to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency. In addition, the chosen candidate will serve as an analyst and data resource for the clinical and medical expense management teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

Work with the analytics and operations team on various projects requiring both automated and manual investigation such as revenue reconciliation, data integrity initiatives, member share of cost claims processing and encounters submission.

Responsible for collaborating with internal and external report owners to ensure reports are prepared timely, accurately, and completely.

Create and modify quality, clinical, medical expense management, and ad hoc reports using Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.

Be a part of the Data Release Governance team in order to review and approve appropriate release of information to external customers.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including the ability to create formulas, to use pivot tables and other built-in functions
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Access queries including the ability to write and execute select and action queries (i.e. the use of where, sum, count, group by)
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills

Additional qualifications preferred:

  • Healthcare experience within a managed care and/or hospital setting
  • Knowledge of clinical indicators, measures and terminology

Nice to have:

  • Claims processing experience
  • Medical coding experience
  • Data analysis, cost management and trending experience
