Valiant Integrated Services is looking for an experienced, highly skilled Telecom Mechanic II to join our professional team at Pohakuloa Training Area, HI providing support to the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) Maintenance Program (ATMP), to include the Digital Range Training System (DRTS). ATMP brings to bear the full capabilities of many of the world's best systems integration and engineering companies in the technical integration of live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) training support. ATMP operations support the installation and training mission to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st Century Battlefield.

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Set-up, operates, maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radio, television, telecommunications, and navigational aids), and industrial and measuring equipment.
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment operations.
  • Operates theater equipment in support of customer presentations and AARs. Will oversee routine periodic maintenance and perform repairs as needed on equipment.
  • Perform required documentation in accordance with established procedures; consult the shift lead for clarification of standard procedures and non-routine customer issues.
  • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that requires more than referencing manufacturers' manuals or other documents.
  • Provides quality assurance checks of other associates work and/or provide technical guidance to less-experienced associates.
  • Researches and selects repair parts needed Management Information System (MIS).
  • Enters work order data in the on-line MIS.
  • May be required to operate targetry system, perform install/de-install, and range maintenance tasks.
  • Document all maintenance actions by inputting data in MIS.
  • Will be cross-trained to support other devices and Task Orders as required.
  • Assist in maintaining Government and contractor property, tools and test equipment.
  • Perform inspections and accountability of property.
  • Assists logistical requirements in accordance with contract requirements and work processes.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-year associate degree in electronics or related technical field (BS Degree desirable/Experience Equivalent to Degree) with 2 years of recent electrical/electronic industrial work experience; Minimum 4 years of experience with electrical systems and /or repair of electronic components. May consider experience in lieu of formal education (military training, technical school, and/or professional experience).
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • May be required to obtain/maintain an active/valid US Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license and Post driving privileges.
  • Must have strong verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must be proficient in the use of MS Applications.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
