Job Description

As the Massage & Principle Therapist at the luxurious Spa Without Walls, you will show your leadership and interpersonal strengths to create a service delivery that is relaxing, mindful, and culturally infused while creating an exceptional guest journey.

What you will be doing:

  • Act as an Ambassador for the spa representing the brand values for colleagues establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders representing the values of the brand and Accor.
  • Manage the operations and efficiency of the Massage Therapist including spa facilities
  • Knowledgeable about all aspects of treatments, spa therapy, and the facility; in person and over the telephone.
  • Training and coaching of spa colleagues.
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism in all aspects of the job.
  • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the hotel team.
  • Ensure spa staff are maximizing the spa bookings, upselling and tracking any lost business
  • Schedule treatment bookings and ensure smooth operation of the reception.
  • Responsible for driving the guest experience and communication amongst the colleagues orchestrating a smooth guest sequence delivery.
  • Ensure guest preferences and special requests are accommodated to the best of the property's abilities.
  • Perform regular treatment and facility audits to maintain brand standards.
  • Be present in daily operations to oversee the success of the guest and colleague experience, including daily walk-throughs to assess quality.
  • Provide tools for the team to best manage the day to day operations resulting in excellent and anticipated guest service.
  • Train Massage Therapist to ensure outstanding guest service.
  • Ensure the spa is receiving the highest ratings from the TrustYou VOG scores as well as LQA guest satisfaction and is a priority at all times
  • Follow and ensure that all colleagues follow all safety procedures and practices of the property; lead by example.
  • Manage scheduling of all therapists, documentation, leave and shift coverage
  • Maintain attendance and performance log for all therapists and coordinate with Spa Manager/Director on addressing performance or attendance concerns
  • Perform all 25, 50, 80, and 110-minute massages, body, and face treatments.
  • Ensure all massage therapists have the product and equipment needed to perform their job duties successfully
  • Troubleshoot all guest and colleague complaints/concerns and handle accordingly
  • Be available to perform practical tests on therapist candidates
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in massage and body work industries and present concepts and ideas as they may be relevant to Fairmont Spas
  • Work with Spa Manager in the formulation of plans for projects and with the Spa Director to implement seasonal or new treatments
  • Prepare and update service operations manuals including treatment protocols

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Service focused personality is essential and previous leadership experience required
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
  • Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Detailed & service oriented with an eye for detail to be self-motivated and energetic.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a massage therapist
  • Previous experience in 5-star hotel or day spa is recommended
  • Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in a Spa (Hawaii Licensed Massage Therapist)
  • Additional certification(s) in a Spa will be an advantage (Lomi-lomi, First Aid, CPR, AED)

Additional Information

Direct service providers such as Massage & Principal Therapists are entitled to earn "commissions."

  • Massage & Principal Therapists are eligible to receive up to 30% - 35% "commissions" of the price paid and received by the Hotel for the service performed by the provider.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.
