JOB TITLE: Sr. Manager Controller, Accounting STATUS: Exempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

This role has a current pay range of $139,000 - $153,000. The listed pay range represents the company's good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of this posting. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment. Manages the Accounting, FP&A, Credit and Collections and Financial reporting responsibilities for Aloha Petroleum Ltd. and Aloha Petroleum LLC (the companies).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage Accounting Department functions and its Professional Staff
  • Lead the disbursement of funds in accordance with established Sunoco LP policies
  • Lead and maintain a strong rapport with Hawaii bank
  • Coordinate management of cash balances with Sunoco Treasury department
  • Manage the process for accurate and timely payments of wages and salaries to employees and the maintenance of records, as required by Federal Law
  • Lead the completion for all Fuel Tax and Sales Tax returns on behalf of the companies
  • Effectively communicate the required accounting information flow (for fuel imports and barge movement of fuel between the Hawaiian Islands) between the Aloha Accounting Department and the Sunoco Supply and Trading Team
  • Coordinate with Sunoco Supply and Trading team and Compliance Team to Manage RIN compliance and financial aspects of RIN assets/obligations.
  • Serve as the EPA Responsible Corporate Officer (RCO) for Aloha with respect to RINs.
  • Lead the annual RIN Attestation as required by the EPA
  • Manage Credit and Collection Department which includes the Save-A-$ card program.
  • Manage FP&A function, which includes the following:
    1. Oversee and compile annual budget process
    2. Provide Financial reports and analysis for local management
    3. Interact with Sunoco FP&A team to coordinate 1 and 2
    4. Assist Operations with CAPEX process (reporting and project submission)
    5. Assist Operations with analysis of new projects.
    6. Track indices for cost, pricing and contract administration
  • Serve as Authorized Signor for Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Completes other special activities and responsibilities as required

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • The Companies' accounting activities are completed timely and accurately in the accounting system of record
  • Financial data is organized in a manner to provide meaningful information to management in a timely and efficient manner
  • Financial statements and management information is produced accurately and on schedule
  • Balance sheet accounts are regularly reconciled and represent actual assets and liabilities in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Internal control weaknesses are identified as systems and operating activities change and appropriate action taken to eliminate the risk to Company assets.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

Skills/Knowledge

* Proficient in the use of PC-based computer systems

* Experiences should include significant and responsible

involvement with automated accounting systems, retail accounting,

wholesale distribution accounting, budget development and financial

statement preparation

* Proficient in the management of accounting processes and the development and implementation of internal controls

* Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

Education/Training:

* Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting or related fields

* MBA and/or CPA desired

Experience:

* Minimum of ten years experiences in increasingly responsible accounting positions
