To be successful in this role, a porter should support all staff by keeping the kitchen, dishware, utensils, and cookware clean and ready for use.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties
Ensure flight kitchen is clean and meets and exceeds standards.
Responsible for the execution of regulated garbage procedures.
Dispose of International garbage following regulations and safety procedures.
Keep the dish machine clean and immediately report any functional or mechanical problem to Manager on Duty.
Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
Clean and sanitize food, preparation, and production areas.
Clean work areas as directed by the Manager on Duty.
Ability to work as part of a team
Calm demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Ensure safety awareness is implemented in all related departments.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to stand in one place for hours, handle the cold, and work shifts.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull product, equipment, and supplies up to fifty-five (50) pounds; must be able to work at heights up to 20-25 feet
Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hour
Ability to read and speak English.
Must be able to work independently.
Supervisory Experience This position has no supervisory experience.
Work Environment This job operates in a flight kitchen, and this position will routinely use a dishwasher. The facility is widely refrigerated and requires work inside refrigerated processing areas.

Experience/Education
Working knowledge of HACCP, USDA, and FDA compliance.
